Seaside’s are best known for their fresh smell and the food that surround it, creating the Great British summer experience. The oyster festival held in Whitstable is the epitome of English seaside culture, with tons of food and something to do for people of all ages.
Commencing on the 22nd of July this festival lasts for just two days but is jam packed with family friendly activities. Whitstable is a picturesque town in the south of England that has some of the best coastal walks and quaint pubs. There is a plethora of things to occupy yourself with at this charming festival.
Children’s pirate treasure hunt – get all the family involved with this fun activity. This is a yearly tradition at the festival and ensures that there is something for everyone to take part in and enjoy. You don’t need to worry about group sizes, we have a range of minibus sizes for any group size.
The seafront procession – This parade commences at the landing of the oysters at East Quay beach to the oyster fair on Tankerton Slopes. This colourful procession takes place on the Saturday only, making it a once in a lifetime parade as no two are the same.
Oyster eating competition – This is an amusing event that is fit only for those that are brave of heart (or simply those with an iron stomach). However, much to the surprise of some, oyster eating competitions can be quite fun. For those taking part, travelling with us means you can sleep it off in our comfortable seats.
Live music on the Beach Stage – Local artists perform throughout the weekend to serenade you as a way of showcasing local talent. Although you might not recognise any of the acts, there is something for everyone from rock choirs to folk bands. Have MET drive you and your music loving party to Whitstable for a weekend of new music.
