This weekend sees the return of the Premier League. Current champions Leicester City kick off the campaign playing away to Hull City. More games follow on a very super Sunday including; Bournemouth vs Manchester United & Arsenal vs Liverpool. The first weekend finishes with a London derby at Stamford Bridge, between 2 teams looking to compete for the top 4 this season, Chelsea FC and West Ham United. Dimitri Payet is looking on top form following a superb campaign last season and an excellent Euro 2016 performance, and Eden Hazard is hoping to regain his form from the 14/15 Premier League season.
Incase you haven’t read the news… Paul Pogba has signed for Manchester United after they sold him for 800k only 4 years ago. He is now the world record signing, and is back in Manchester after Juventus accepted an £89 million bid. A lot of other teams have splashed the cash during the summer. They are all trying to clinch the Premier League trophy after Leicester proved last season that anything is possible for any team, no matter how big or small. We’re hoping that our beloved Watford Football Club can take a page out of Leicester’s book, and take their first ever major trophy back home.
New manager Walter Mazzarri will be looking to make a name for himself in his first full season in out of Italy. At the moment, 4 players have signed, and 4 players have been sold. Jerome Sinclair was the youngest to sign, at the age of 19, Sinclair is looking for a way to show his full potential after spending a lot of time on the bench at Liverpool. He shows a great deal of promise. Could this be the season Watford bring a trophy back to Hertfordshire? We hope so.
