Given the political situation at the moment, it’s best we focus on something that unites nations and brings pride to countries for their passion to success. The European Championships. The title, ironic given the past few days events, is recognised the world over and for us Brits, it’s a brilliant tournament so far. Ireland, Wales & England have all managed to qualify for the last 16.
A proud Welshman who has love and respect for this great nation, England, I couldn’t be happier with the results. Wales and England both had a successful group stage and despite being in the same group, both managed to prosper. For the sake of informing the diet hard football fans who follow us that didn’t already know, here’s how the last 16 stands:
Poland vs Switzerland – 25/06/16, 2pm, Saint-Etienne
Wales vs Northern Ireland – 25/06/16, 5pm, Paris
Croatia vs Portugal – 25/06/16, 8pm, Lens
France vs Republic of Ireland – 26/06/16, 2pm, Lyon
Germany vs Slovakia – 26/06/16, 5pm, Lille
Hungary vs Belgium – 26/06/16, 8pm, Toulouse
Italy vs Spain – 27/06/16, 5pm, Saint-Denis
England vs Iceland – 27/06/16, 8pm, Nice
And if you’re confident your nation will proceed, here’s who they could face:
Switzerland/Poland vs Croatia/Portugal
Thursday June 30, 8pm, Marseille
Wales/Northern Ireland vs Hungary/Belgium
Friday July 1, 8pm, Lille
Germany/Slovakia vs Italy/Spain
Saturday July 2, 8pm, Bordeaux
