The recent news that Justin Rose was taking two months off for “for rest and recovery” was a bit of a setback for the upcoming British Masters at The Grove in Hertfordshire. Luckily there are still a ton of reasons to clear your calendar to go and see the top talent on display. And if you’re part of a golf club, or just have friends and family with a golf interest, consider going in a group and getting there in style and stress free by hiring a comfortable minibus or a luxury coach with MET coaches.
From Thursday 13 October to Sunday 16 October the prestigious British Masters will be hosted at the Grove Golf Club in Watford. The Grove is an exceptional venue and must be seen with your own eyes to be truly appreciated. It is set in 300 acres of Hertfordshire countryside and houses a luxury five-star hotel, golf course, spa, restaurants and extensive function space.
If you plan to really do it in style you can treat yourself to at the Grove’s VIP tournament experience which includes:
Apart from food and wine, a host of celebrities will be attending so you’ll get so see how good they really are. Aaron Ramsey and Andrei Shevchenko will be joined by a string of former sporting stars including Liverpool icon Kenny Dalglish, Champions League winner Teddy Sheringham, Robbie Fowler, and Gianfranco Zola. You can also expect to see Jamie Redknapp, Matt Le Tissier and Neil McCann, alongside Damon Hill.
The atmosphere is expected to be something special. More than 57,000 spectators attended last year’s British Masters, where Englishman Matthew Fitzpatrick claimed his maiden European Tour title.
And the biggest reason of all? Seeing Luke Donald and Lee Westwood attempt to win the British Masters title for a second time. Westwood first won at The Belfry in 2007 and almost defended his crown the following year. Can he win it again this year?
“The fans always give us great support at tournaments in Britain, so I’m really looking forward to playing in front of them at The Grove,” said Westwood.
