Coach journeys can be fun, especially when you’re travelling with your friends. You can relax before and after you have visited your destination, you can appreciate the rolling British countryside from the comfort of your coach seat, and you can catch up with the friend sitting next to you.
However, long coach journeys can be tiring, and we understand that it can sometimes be stressful to those who do not enjoy travelling all that much. In order to help you make the most out of your coach trip, MET Coaches have come up with some of our top tips to put you at ease.
Putting on a baggy jumper and your favourite trainers can help you to relax during a long journey. You can always change into other clothes when you arrive and leave your comfortable outfit on the coach ready for your return.
During a long coach trip, taking the time to regularly stretch can help you to feel refreshed. Some good mini exercises to focus on are: stretching your legs in front of you and rotating your ankles, and stretching your arms above your head and rotating your wrists. It’s not always a good idea to get up out of your seat when the coach is moving, but doing these exercises once in a while can really help.
Taking some food for the journey can help keep you energised. Make sure to take some healthier options with you, such as apples, granola bars, or grapes, instead of just junk food. And don’t forget to share some of your snacks with your coach mates!
Long journeys can be quite boring so it’s important to be prepared with some fun activities. Bring a book to read, a tablet to play games or watch a film on, or a notebook to write or draw in. You can also play games with the rest of the coach, such as the classic ‘I Spy’ or even a good old-fashioned sing along.
Resting up before you arrive at your destination can help you to make the most of your day once you’ve arrived. You can also rest at the end of the day once you have been picked up again by our dedicated drivers.
You can always trust MET to provide excellent care and to look out for your safety in order to ensure that you arrive at your destination ready to enjoy your day. It is important to us that you are able to make the most out of your journey, and using our top tips can really help you to do so.
