The weather is as chilly as ever. Here at MET, we know all too well the need for fresh, well made coffee in the winter months. When the bitter chill sweeps across Herts, coffee becomes more than just a morning pick up. The cold’s almost like a horrible, bitter form of seasoning as your numb fingers and throbbing toes place so much emphasis on the taste of the piping hot coffee you’ve purchased in a desperate attempt to warm up. Every ounce of your body is focused on the helpfully hot liquid caressing your throat as it warms you from the inside out. With that in mind, we’ve given you some guidance on where to get a great cup of the good stuff in our coffee round-up…
Here’s our favourite coffee shops for you to enjoy this winter:
133 High St, Watford, Hertfordshire, WD17 2ER

Having visited a few times ourselves, we love it! Their coffee is superb & there’s reason for it ! Their coffee machine is from Italian specialists called Nuova Simonelli who have been importing coffee machines globally since 1936. It doesn’t stop there, they
have some handy catering services & a great menu if you’re feeling hungry. I personally recommend their homemade sausage rolls or an almond croissant, they go down a treat with one of their coffee’s.
Vicky Francis says “Great coffees and a great selection of food & sweets. 10/10!”
173 The Parade, Watford, WD17 1NJ

This one’s for the creatives. The LP cafe brings you great coffee, with a twist. There’s music. It’s a relatively new cafe, having opened in 2013 that provides a unique environment for the more ‘hip’ coffee enthusiasts. If we have any following our blogs that is… Being a coach company, we doubt it. But look, if you are following us, welcome! We’ll be sure to lend a hand when travelling to all your ‘hip’ gigs as your love of music takes you outside the realms of The LP Cafe.
Umar Sultan says “Never been to a place like it, gotta love it. Vinyls, books, hot chocolate and cakes. Character and friendly, quiet and relaxed.”
Watford Junction Station, Station Rd, Watford, WD17 8ET

We’re all for supporting small businesses, something we’ve tried to do with this blog but AMT couldn’t be left off the list. This one’s for the ‘green environment’ enthusiasts out there. Driving huge coaches up and down the country for a living, we can’t claim to be the most environmentally friendly company but we appreciate those who are (and of course, do our bit to help save the planet). That said, we’re definitely in to fair trade! This coffee shop only serves fair-trade coffee & organic milk, plus a variety of sweets & snacks. It’s the perfect place to relax and feel good about the coffee you’re consuming. It’s convenient, in the station, speedy, has good service and provides an adequate range of choices. Including a skinny chilli hot choc that Susan Dalipaj recommends (via Google Reviews).
Tomasz Wilczek says “Delicious coffee & fantastic staff. 5 stars is not enough ;-)”
There we have it, a brief round-up of some of Watford’s exciting coffee hotspots. If you’re passing by, have a try & let us know your thoughts. And, if you need a lift, you know where to go!
