On 16 June, families will be showing their gratitude to their fathers and father figures like uncles, grandfathers and step-fathers for Father’s Day.
The typical gift on Father’s Day might be a funny card and maybe a new pair of socks or slippers, but this year, mix it up by taking them on a well-deserved day out.
MET minibuses are the ideal transportation option at times like this. Our team will plan the journey and our drivers will make sure you reach your destination in time. Furthermore, travelling with us means you won’t have to worry about walking long distances, figuring out public transport routes or getting caught in poor weather. You can focus solely on having a great day with your father.
Some of our drivers are fathers themselves and have suggested a few ideas for the perfect Father’s Day present.
Does your dad like a good pint? If you’re all over 18, consider buying your dad a drink or two this Father’s Day at a riverside pub or beer garden while basking in the summer sun. The Mayflower, one of the oldest pubs by the River Thames, is a great spot for a drink and a laugh while looking out over the Thames and the lively city of London. MET will drive you there and wait until you’re finished to drive you back home.
A day out at the zoo or aquarium is always popular for a family-friendly trip. For instance, ZSL Whipsnade Zoo located in Dunstable, Bedfordshire is one of the largest zoos in the UK. Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire is home to some of the world’s most beautiful big cats including tigers, snow leopards, white lions, jaguars and cheetahs. If the father figure you’re celebrating has a ‘need for speed’, go-karting is a great idea for him. London has many indoor and outdoor go-karting spaces for all levels.
There are so many things you can do for Father’s Day it can be hard to pick just one. We suggest making it a weekend-long event to maximise how much fun you could have together and ensure that you have time to treat all of the father figures in your life. For instance, one day could be dedicated to the more senior figures who may enjoy a leisurely picnic in one of London’s many parks like Kew Gardens before attending an evening show or dinner. The next day could be spent with your dad doing thrilling activities such as snorkelling with sharks at SEA LIFE London or sliding down The Slide at the ArcelorMittal Orbit.
